From the Heart of Mount Parnassus to the Sanctuary of Delphi

A unique hiking experience that combines the majestic natural beauty of Mount Parnassus with the mythology and history of Delphi. The route begins at Livadi Parnassou, at an altitude of 1,100 metres, following a gently ascending dirt road to the legendary Corycian Cave, one of the most significant caves of the ancient world.

After a stop of approximately 30 minutes to explore the cave, the route continues through breathtaking landscapes, dense fir forests and traditional trails across Mount Parnassus.

The trail then follows the course of the stream and leads to the Ancient Stairway of Delphi, the historic path once used by pilgrims travelling to the Oracle of Apollo. After a short stop for photographs, the hike concludes at the Archaeological Site of Delphi, at an altitude of 530 metres, completing a truly unforgettable experience.

Recommended equipment:

All Year Round: Comfortable hiking shoes or boots, a backpack, a reusable water bottle or regular water bottle, and any personal medication.

Spring – Summer: Lightweight, breathable clothing, a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen.

Autumn – Winter: Warm layers, an insulated jacket, thermal base layers, a waterproof or windproof jacket, gloves and a warm hat.

DelphiTrekk reserves the right to cancel, postpone or modify any scheduled hike in the event of adverse weather conditions, unsafe trail conditions or other exceptional circumstances beyond its control (force majeure).

Any such decision will be made solely with the safety of participants in mind.

In the event of cancellation by DelphiTrekk, every reasonable effort will be made to offer an alternative date or provide a refund, in accordance with the company’s Cancellation Policy.
